Well first all fantasies are fine if you know where to draw the line and I think you know how to do that. Best approach I have used is the direct one. Once you have been with someone for a while and you have built plenty of trust, then just explain to her one day what you think about. Just tell her how excited you are when you think about it, and how much it would mean to you if she would be willing to role play with you. If in the end she is turned off by it, you have to find a way to respect her wishes, and if it will get in the way of your relationship if she says no then you will have to move on until you find someone who will be willing to accept your fantasy. As for people on here trying to upset you with answers on this subject, they have bigger nastier fantasies then you could come up with.

Bry is right, fantasies are fine if you know when to stop and where to draw the line. I bet your girlfriend would be excited about it since it's just another way to turn you on. Tell her that you feel nervous about telling her, but then tell her. She'll also be happy because you've trusted her enough to tell her something so personal.
