HELP! With bridesmaid dresses????

I am getting married July 4th, 2008. I am Not having a red, white and blue wedding! But i do love the color red. Deep red. I want all my girls to be comfortable in their dress, and they are all under the age of 30. SO i dont want old lady looking dresses. I want something fun, sexy, and beautiful. My theme is formal. and kind of leaning towards Phantom of the opera style. Red, black and white. We are having Candelabras on the tables, Im just trying to give you a small vision.

Your dress is beautiful.

Now, as for the bridesmaids. If you are doing an outdoor wedding, I would not recommend a dark color dress (it would simply be too hot in the sun in a dark color). If not, go for the dark red. Look for a dress that is made out of a nice, light material, with spaghetti straps or strapless (if they are comfortable w/o straps, I know some people aren't).

If you decide for the red/black/white I would think you should do an evening reception, I think of lighter, brighter colors for a day wedding. Congratulations, I am sure your wedding will be beautiful!

A lot of my brides have been buying cocktail style dresses for their bridesmaids out of J. Crew, Chadwicks, and other catalogs for great prices, that are really trendy and young looking. If all your b'maids are easy to fit, this may be an option. Also, chain dept. stores like Dillard's, Foley's, Macy's and others may be an option; if they don't have all your sizes in that store, they can get them shipped in from their other locations for you.

Awesome dress I wish mine had been that pretty. I have some websites where you can go and look for some dresses and different styles. I think they need to be kind of bubbly like yours but dont let them look better than you. I dont think that will ever happen though. Red would look awesome.

I do suggest ordering a swatch of your dress.. They'll send two of them %26amp; they are so important to have! You'll need it to match up your table linens, flowers, everything! :) The Candelabras would def. be a good choice! You could have your florist make up some beautiful arrangements to place on them! Maybe something like this..

I would recommend letting them choose their own style of dress (within reason). Many bridal salons now have options where you can pick the color and then the bridesmaids can pick the style. This way they all match, but are still comfortable and have something on which flatters them. Also, they now have two piece bridesmaids dresses where each piece can be used after the wedding. Check out davidsbridal.com they have some great ideas.

beautiful dress!! i;m getting married in august.

let the girls pick whatever style they want. as long as it's in the red family. this way, they can wear something they like cuz they picked it themselves and possibly wear it in the future. thats what i did with my bridesmaid and they absolutely LOVE and APPRECIATED that idea. so far, all my girls are in the same color family but different dresses. the colors dont all match but thats the point. why does it have to look uniform?

I dunno if I like the red black and white thing for a summer outside wedding, (not really a fan of that color scheme in general, its just too generic in my opinion)

Just a suggestion, and ignore it if you want, but why not do some deep red roses mixed in with deep purples, yellows and greens for your flowers? I PROMISE its breathtaking and would be very summery, you could still do the candelabras on the tables and just use more colorful flowers with it....Also, just red and purple is really pretty together as well...

WOW! Pretty gown - but the front only! The back just wrecks the whole thing, sorry.

Maybe the bridesmaids could wear a gown like the woman does in Phantom, in keeping with your theme. Is your bf ok with doing the whole mask thing?

First let me say, your gown is gorgeous. You'll be a beautiful bride. As to dresses for your girls, I recommend separates. You pick the color and a skirt and let them pick the top. Jordan's skirt number B021 will coordinate very nicely with your gown's skirt. good luck
