you could always..try a different font..don't use stencils..they're in my opinion.. a thing of the past.

Michael's, JoAnne Fabric, and Tall Mouse are the local craft stores in CA. They carry some fonts. Your best bet is to look on line for the different companies.
Stencils are still widely used for decorative painting, particularly in homes.
You could instead color copy or print out colored letters onto glossy card stock and glue them onto your sign.
